Saving $25 a Week… Because My “Over 50” Wallet Needs Discipline Too

· Life After 50

I want to tell you all something...

I have never been able to save money consistently. I mean never ever. My savings account would have complained years ago about "lack of activity" if it could talk.

I'm the woman who can plan a trip across the country, find a coupon code in three minutes, and live in a 24 foot space with her husband for 5.5 years, but ask me to save money ...

Whew, chile.

I am officially committing to saving $25 a week, so 2026 will see a new me, or at least a more disciplined version of me.

You are never too old to create new habits!

I know $25 doesn't sound like much, but let me tell you... That's $1,300 sitting there smiling back at me 52 weeks later. And for someone who once saved $50 and thought she was going to be on CNBC, that's a big win!

And because I know myself..I need structure, accountability, and something cute enough to make me want to save so, I got this savings book right here:

This little workbook is about to keep me honest! By the way they have a variety of colors to choose from.

It doesn't have to be hard to save money. It's still worth it to start small, especially if you keep doing it. And for a lot of us over 50, the real problem is staying consistent (with money, fitness, and everything else).

This is what I'm doing:

  • Saving $25 each week
  • Putting it in my challenge book
  • Treating it like something I can't change, like my morning walk and how much water I drink.

This is the exact tool: https://amzn.to/3YaAR9j

You can do this too, even if you've tried, failed, tried again, and failed again.

A simple plan and a group of people doing it with you can make the difference between "I wish" and "I did."

So I’m putting the invitation out there:

Then grab this super affordable savings tool and let’s save together. You have enough time to receive it by January.

I’ll regularly share money-saving tips that help me add more cash to my savings challenge book.

If you want to invite your friends and family members to jump in with us feel free to share this post with them. This may be a great way for you to help your children and/or grands to develop a habit of saving so they don't wait until they are
62 like me🤣😂

Let’s make 2026 the year we stop talking about saving and finally start stacking some chips, I plan to do it $25 at a time.

Here's to more saings in 2026
