From rising campsite fees to shifting traveler preferences and evolving tech demands, this past week delivered key updates that RVers, campground owners, and industry enthusiasts should know. Michigan State Parks Increase Camping Fees

Starting August 1, 2025, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will raise campsite fees by $4–10 per night and lodging fees up to $120 per night in a move to close funding gaps. Deluxe lodge stays may reach $236/night by 2027. Read more

2025 RV & Camping Consumer Insights Report Released

A major Newbook survey reveals that:

  • 64% of campers book online (especially Millennials and Gen Z)
  • 78% expect high-speed Wi‑Fi, mainly for entertainment
  • Clean bathrooms and pet-friendly amenities are now top priorities
  • 44% of camping trips last just 1–2 nights

RV Sales Remain Soft in 2025

The Financial Times reports that 2024 RV shipments dropped to ~333,733 units—nearly half of 2021’s peak. 2025 is tracking similarly, with higher interest rates, fewer remote workers, and rising costs putting pressure on sales. Read more
