Celebrating the Season:
Holiday Events in Huntsville
Spending our first Holiday Season in Huntsville has been quite exciting. We made it a point to get out and experience some of the city’s most festive gatherings. From tree lightings to winter markets and downtown celebrations, each event added a little more joy to the season.
Because of the weather and our schedules, we were only able to attend a small number of the various events that were available to us.
Here’s a recap of the holiday fun we enjoyed around Huntsville this holiday season.
Bridgstreet Christmas Tree Lighting
We went to the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Bridgestreet, but we left before the tree was lit because there were too many people. The weather was perfect, and it felt like a family gathering.
We stopped by Connor's for happy hour before the lighting ceremony. It was a full night of fun and festivities.

Christmas Circus at The Orion Amphitheater
This was our first Christmas Circus. The theme was "Journey to the North Pole," which was a high-energy holiday show that combined circus acts, amazing LED and fire performances, breathtaking aerial acts, and funny characters from the North Pole. QCG Productions put on this free, family-friendly show. There were fire pits all over the place, craft activities for kids, hot cocoa and adult drinks for sale, as well as kits for making s'mores.
Even though it was a little cold, we liked the show. The fire pits helped keep things warm.

Winterville at Redstone Arsenal
We spent a cold but sunny day exploring Winterville righ here in our neighborhood at Redstone Arsenal, a holiday event with local vendors and seasonal foods. The weather was cold, but the sun made it a fun trip. This was a simple but enjoyable holiday stop because we could walk around the vendor booths, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and get some fresh air. It's a great choice for people who like holiday events that are low-key and focused on supporting local small businesses and community.

Tinsel Town in Downtown Huntsville
We finished our holiday outings at Tinsel Town in Downtown Huntsville, and it was everything you want in a Christmas display. With holiday lights, decorations, and that familiar hometown charm, downtown Huntsville felt especially welcoming.
There are hundreds of live Christmas trees—over 400 in recent years—on display for free.
Each tree is decorated in a different way by local businesses, community groups, families, and organizations. There are all kinds of decorations, from traditional holiday ones to creative and themed ones that show off the local spirit and creativity.

This event was a great way to take a break, walk around the city, and think about the season. It made us remember how important local traditions can be, especially when they are shared in the middle of the community.
This December was a great reminder that you don't have to go far to have a good time during the holidays. Huntsville's holiday events were full of chances to get out, meet new people, and make lasting memories. These events, like a tree lighting, a winter market, or a downtown celebration, show that life after 50 is about enjoying what's right in front of you, one season at a time.
Wishing you a joy filled holiday season,
Kirsten & Mack ❤️
