Gearing Up for Summer: RV Upgrades and a Serene Stay at Camp Blanding

April 16, 2024

As summer 2024 draws near, the excitement in our household is off the hook—our Class C RV is getting prepped and primed for the season's road trip heading west, and we've just kicked off the upgrades with a relaxing stay at Camp Blanding military campground. In today's post, we want to share with you the upgrades we have made and our peaceful overnight experience at Camp Blanding in Starke, Florida. We only stayed one night so a full campground review is not possible, which is a good reason to return to this beautiful campground, as you will see in the video below

This military campground is a hidden gem that offers tranquility and stunning scenery—perfect for a quiet retreat.

We arrived as the sun was setting, casting golden hues over the calm waters and dense forests.

Embarking on RV Upgrades

Here's what we tackled:

Tire Replacement: Knowing the importance of safety and comfort while on the road, our first stop post-campground was getting new tires fitted for smooth rides ahead!

Interior Tweaks: We've added Monkey Magnets to keep the drawers closed while driving down the highway.

We replaced our mattress topper with the same brand that we have slept comfortably on over the past almost 5 years.

Our dinette was taken out, and recliners were installed. We didn't want the typical RV furniture peeling to happen, so we purchased covers for the recliners that now sit where the booth was and we are super happy about that change.

We still have a few small changes to make before we hit the road, like installing the shower head we shared in the video.

What's Next?

With all the upgrades in place, our RV feels brand new and ready for the adventures that await. We're eager to hit the open road and bring you along for every discovery and detour. Whether you’re an RV veteran or just enjoy vicarious travel experiences, we hope our journey inspires you to explore the joys of nomadic living.

Stay tuned for more updates from the road and practical tips on balancing work and travel from our home on wheels.

Happy travels,

Kirsten & Mack
