From Scroll to Soul: Why We’re Blogging More and Posting Less

· Life After 50

Do you remember when blogging was the best way to talk about your thoughts, your travels, your favorite recipes, or just what you did over the weekend? You'd get a cup of coffee, sit down, and read posts that seemed like real conversations instead of content made to get clicks. Back then, people were real. Now, algorithms and endless scrolling are all the rage.

Then there was social media. Quick, flashy, and let's be honest, hard to stop. At first, it was fun! We could post in real time, connect right away, and see what everyone else was doing. But at some point, it became less about enjoying expression and more about getting people to engage. A lot of us stopped writing from the heart and started writing for the algorithm. And wow, that's a lot of work to do.

So, what do you think? We're going back to the past.

We're bringing the blog back, and it will have more than just long posts. There will be quick updates, short thoughts, and simple life moments that matter. We're choosing to spend more time making things on platforms we own instead of ones that drain us. No need for filters or viral dance trends. Just honest talk, real life, and a real connection.

Because, to be honest? Some of these social media sites make people feel like they're sucking the life out of them, and we don't want that anymore.

So let's make blogging fun again! To slow down, tell stories, and make friends right here on our own digital front porch. We invite you to engage with us, leave us a comment just like you would on a social media post and let's continue to connect, grow and inspire one another.

We look forward to seeing you here on the blog!
