Blue Angel Park Stop #4 On Our Journey West

It's not always fun and games, issues do happen

October 4, 2021

We departed, Destin Army Recreation Area on September 22, 2021 for a short 62 mile drive to Blue Angel Park, in Pensacola Florida.  We stayed 2 nights at Blue Angel and wished we had more time there.  We had a pull through spot #60. We were glad to see that there is plenty of room between  all of the spaces.  There are two very clean bath houses and laundry rooms available.

We had our first negative RV park experience at Blue Angel but in the end, it was all good and no real harm was done.  We are sharing it all in today's post.

Blue Angel Park is open year-round supporting active duty, retirees, DOD civilians and their family members.

Blue Angel Park sits right on Perdido Bay and  has two RV campgrounds, boat launch ramps, cabins and trailers, primitive campsites, 170 dry storage lots, a 35 acre paintball field, three 18-hole disc golf courses, geocaching, hiking/biking trails, fishing pier, children’s playgrounds, beaches and picnic areas, pavilion rentals, sailing classes, as well as sailboat, paddleboard, kayak rentals.

There is an air conditioned yurt that is open to campers.  Inside you will find a kitchen, a seating area with televisions and wifi is available inside of the yurt.  This a great place to play board games and relax.

There are numerous location throughout the park to watch the sunset. You can catch the sunset  in your car in the huge parking lot or you can take your own chair to the sandy shore or watch it from one of the picnic pavillion areas or from one of the park benches.

We had our first negative campground experience while at Blue Angel.  After the grass was cut they came around and blew the grass away but for us they blew the grass and mud all over Big Baby and Lil Baby.  We reported it and they apologized and sent someone over to speak with us.  It was not cool but we got through it.

We only had one day to explore so we cleaned up Lil Baby and headed out for a day of fun. We visited Rosamond Johnson Beach (Full blog post about the beach coming soon there is awesome black history at this beach),  Wandering Oaks Winery & Gary's Brewery and Beer Biergarten and Five Sisters Blues Cafe

We enjoyed our meal at Five Sisters Blues Cafe, the customer service was good and the decor  was nice.

Despite the issue with the grass blown on our vehicles we enjoyed Blue Angel and we will return.
